The Open Qualifying Series provides the opportunity for players to realise their dream of playing in golf's original Championship.

Places in The 150th Open are available in a host of events across multiple continents, starting with the Joburg Open at Randpark in Johannesburg from November 25-28.

Three places were on offer at the Joburg Open, with Thriston Lawrence, Zander Lombard and Ashley Chesters the men to book their spots at St Andrews.

The R&A is working together with the leading men's professional tours to finalise arrangments for the remaining events that will make up the 2022 Open Qualifying Series and they will be confirmed in the coming months as schedules are finalised.

Professional and amateur players will also be able to reach The Open via Regional and Final Qualifying, on Monday 20 June and Tuesday 28 June respectively. Full details, including confirmation of the venues, will be released in the coming months.

Regional Qualifying is contested over 18 holes at venues across Great Britain and Ireland, with spots available into Final Qualifying.

Successful Regional Qualifiers will join exempt amateurs and professionals at four Final Qualifying venues on Tuesday 28 June, with the leading players after 36 holes earning a spot into The 150th Open.

Twelve players progressed through Final Qualifying in 2021, with five of those men - Daniel Croft, Sam Forgan, Ben Hutchinson, Nicholas Poppleton and Connor Worsdall - having already come through Regional Qualifying.

The Road to The Open series followed Forgan, James Robinson, Peter Finch and Chris Lewis as they attempted to make it to Royal St George's. You can watch all episodes from the series in the playlist below.
