St Andrews | 10 - 17 July 2022
The 150th Open will be played at St Andrews from Sunday 10 to Sunday 17 July 2022.
It is anticipated that there will be a high number of spectators attending throughout the week. To minimise road traffic congestion, The R&A is asking spectators to consider the use of public transport, which will be significantly enhanced for travel convenience. There will be no public car parking available at St Andrews Links or in the immediate surrounding area. All public parking will be provided at managed Park & Ride sites.
Local Area Restrictions
To assist with traffic management and reduce congestion in the vicinity of St Andrews, temporary traffic regulations and parking restrictions will be introduced. These will be enforced by Fife Council in order to minimise disruption to local residents and businesses, assist traffic flow and increase safety and security for all road users.
ScotRail provides train services from destinations across Scotland to Leuchars – the nearest station to St Andrews.
An enhanced service will be in operation during the week of The Open, with additional capacity on key routes from Edinburgh, Glasgow, Dundee and Aberdeen and special services running earlier in the morning and later in the evening. A bus connection will be available from Leuchars Train Station directly to The Open.
Customers can take advantage of preferential rates and avoid additional queuing at the bus stop by purchasing a ‘Golflink’ ticket. These rail tickets are valid for the connecting bus journey to and from The Open.
Train services are expected to be busy during The Open so please ensure you leave plenty of time to travel. A link to rail timetables and ticket booking information will be published here soon.
